What we install, at market rates
Downlights and small fittings about S$15 each; T5/T8 tubes about S$10; ceiling lights about S$30; track lights about S$35 per point; hanging and pendant lights about S$40; LED strips about S$10 per metre. Ceiling fans about S$65 and wall fans about S$50 on existing points. If your project needs new points or concealed wiring, that is quoted per metre on top, itemised, before work starts.
The part that matters with ceiling fans
A ceiling fan is a spinning weight suspended over the people you love. The install that matters is invisible: confirming the mounting can carry the load, the hook or bracket suits the fan, and the regulator wiring is correct. HDB's own home-care guidance emphasises keeping fans maintained, we install them so that maintenance starts from a safe baseline. If a fan wobbles, hums or trips the circuit after someone else's install, we fix that too.

How much does an electrician charge to install a light in Singapore?
Market rates per fitting: downlights and small lights around S$15, T5/T8 tubes about S$10, ceiling lights about S$30, track lights about S$35 per point, hanging or pendant lights about S$40, and LED strips about S$10 per metre. New lighting points (fresh wiring) cost more than swaps.
How much does ceiling fan installation cost?
About S$65 at market rates for a standard ceiling fan on an existing point, and about S$50 for a wall fan. Fans needing a new point, reinforcement, or high-ceiling work cost more, quoted upfront after we see the site or photos.
Do lighting shops in Singapore install what they sell?
Some arrange installation, many do not, and buyers often discover this at the counter. Buying your own fitting and having a licensed electrician install it is normal and often cheaper. We install customer-supplied fittings daily.
Do I need an electrician to change a light fitting?
Swapping a bulb is DIY. Anything involving fixed wiring, replacing the fitting itself, adding a point, moving a switch, is licensed electrical work in Singapore. It is also simply safer at the top of a ladder with the circuit properly isolated.
Why does my new LED light flicker?
