How We Source and Correct This Site

This page was last reviewed on 18 September 2026. It explains the sourcing order behind every guide here, which statements carry their own review date, how prices are handled, and how to tell us when something is wrong.

It applies to everything published here, from the Singapore electrician home page down to the last guide in the blog.

The order sources are used in

Singapore law comes first. Where the Electricity Act, its subsidiary legislation or an official register settles a question, that is what the page follows and links to.

Next come the agencies that administer those rules: the Energy Market Authority, HDB, LTA, SP Group, Enterprise Singapore, IRAS, SCDF and the Singapore Courts. A statement about permits, licence classes, EV-charger registration, GST display or tribunal limits is traced to whichever of those bodies is responsible for it.

After the regulators come current Singapore Standards and their issued amendments, then official forms, circulars and licensing conditions, then manufacturer documentation for a specific model. Professional body guidance and published research sit below those.

Secondary industry commentary ranks last and is never used to establish a Singapore rule. Where a guide quotes a UK or US electrician, it is cited for method only and labelled as such on the page.

What carries a last-reviewed date, and why

Fees, licence classes, permit thresholds, inspection intervals, protection requirements, standard editions and statistics all change without warning. Anything of that kind carries the date it was last checked against the source, so you can see how stale it might be.

A review date is a statement about when the claim was checked, not a promise that it is still current at the moment you read it. Where the decision matters, open the linked source and confirm the figure there.

Historic, proposed and in-force requirements are kept separate. A rule that is coming is described as coming, never written as though it already applies.

How prices are published

Every SGD figure here is a range drawn from prices that Singapore electrical companies publish on their own sites. Each range is attributed to the company that published it and dated. The published price ranges page shows the collection date at the top.

These are not our rates. This site does not set prices, does not hold a rate card and does not present any figure as its own job history. A range is there so you can judge a quote, and the terms of use say plainly that it binds nobody.

What this site is not

It does not carry out electrical work. No installation, rewiring, testing, inspection, certification, submission or supply turn-on is performed by this site.

It holds no licence. This site is not a Licensed Electrical Worker and holds no electrical installation licence. The licence that matters is the one held by the individual doing your job, and you can check a licence on ELISE yourself before anyone starts. The EMA licensing rules page sets out which work is restricted and to which class.

It appears in no register or directory. This site is not listed in ELISE or in any HDB contractor directory, and no government agency endorses, approves or is affiliated with it.

Enquiries are passed on. An enquiry is given to the electrician who takes the job. The price, scope and any warranty are agreed between you and that party, not with this site.

Guidance is general. Nothing here is an inspection of your installation or personalised electrical, engineering, legal or tax advice. Where documents and simple observation cannot settle a safety question, it needs an appropriately licensed person on site.

Who writes this, and what is not claimed

Pages are written by the operator of this site, working from Singapore electrical licensing, safety and compliance material. No author licence, qualification, membership, years of experience or named reviewer is claimed, because none has been substantiated.

Nothing here is presented as a case study, a customer outcome or a review. There are no testimonials, ratings or job counts on this site, and the space is left empty rather than filled. Who publishes this site covers the same ground from the ownership side.

Corrections

If a figure, a rule or a date here is wrong or out of date, send it through the form on the report a correction page. Include the page address, the exact sentence, and the source you believe is right.

Verified corrections are made on the page itself rather than in a note elsewhere, the review date is moved forward, and the source list at the foot of the page is updated. Enquiry details sent with a correction are handled as described in the what we do with your enquiry data policy.

Safety comes before any of this
