Singapore regulates electrical work through one mechanism: the Energy Market Authority licenses the people allowed to do it. Everything on this site flows from that rule, who turns up at your door, what they are allowed to sign off, and why a two-minute search on a government register tells you more than any review page. Before you book anyone (including us), run the ELISE check , and if someone claims to be on an “HDB approved list”, that should end the conversation, because no such list exists.

How much does an electrician cost in Singapore?
Small fixes, a socket, a switch, a light point, mostly land between S$40 and S$140. Bigger works scale from there: replacing a DB box from about S$450, a whole-flat rewire from about S$1,800, an EV charger between S$2,000 and S$8,000 installed. How do I know if an electrician is licensed in Singapore?
Two steps: look the person up on ELISE, the EMA’s free public register (elise.ema.gov.sg), then match what you find against the licence card they carry. If the name or number does not line up, or they cannot produce a card at all, walk away. The whole check takes about as long as making a coffee.
What is the minimum charge for an electrician?
Almost every outfit in Singapore has one, usually billed as a call-out of roughly S$50 to S$80. It exists because a licensed person still has to travel, diagnose and take responsibility even for a five-minute fix. Reputable electricians fold it into the bill once you approve the repair, so in practice you rarely pay it as a separate line.
Do you handle both HDB and condo electrical work?
