What the scope actually covers
The backbone is the distribution board, sized for the tenancy’s real load rather than a guess, get this wrong and every later addition fights for capacity. From there: lighting circuits and controls laid out to the ceiling plan; power and data points at each desk position, most economically installed together; and dedicated circuits for server rooms, kitchen equipment or anything with a heavy or sensitive draw. Landlord rules and downtime
Commercial buildings set the terms: approved contractors, submission and sign-off, and specific rules on working hours, cable containment and making good. We work to those requirements so your handover is clean. Where a task needs the power down, DB changes, tie-ins, we schedule it for evenings, weekends or a planned window, and we tell you in advance which parts can run live and which cannot, so the disruption is known rather than discovered. Larger tenancies whose load crosses the licence-tier thresholds are scoped to the correct class from the start.

How much does a data point cost to install?

It is usually most economical to install power and data points together during the fit-out rather than piecemeal later.
Do I need landlord approval for office electrical work?
Almost always. Commercial landlords and building management usually require that fit-out electrical work is done by an approved or licensed contractor, submitted for approval, and signed off on completion, often with specific rules on working hours, containment and making good. We work to the building’s requirements rather than around them, which keeps your handover clean.
Can electrical work be done without shutting the office?
Much of it can be staged. New circuits and containment can often be run with minimal disruption, while anything needing a power-down, DB changes, tie-ins, is scheduled for evenings, weekends or a planned shutdown window. Who is responsible for compliance on a commercial fit-out?
The electrical contractor is responsible for the installation meeting the standard and for the sign-off, using Licensed Electrical Workers of the correct class for the load. For larger tenancies the load may require a Licensed Electrical Technician or Engineer to take responsibility, matching that to your load is part of scoping the job.
